Default Acts of Kindness

When was the last time you did something for your significant other just because you wanted to, and had absolutely NO expectation of anything in return?

I ask myself this often. There are times when I think to do something for my husband because I know it needs done or he just wants it done, and I do it because I have time and am able to. But how often do I do these things with NO expectations of a return kindness? Even a simple "thank you" is often desired, if not expected.

Do you do anything for your SO that does not leave you with a need or desire for your SO to show appreciation or otherwise "return a kindness?" Something that the simple act of doing it is enough to satisfy you, knowing you did something kind, even if others never acknowledge it?

Default Re: Acts of Kindness

I have done little things like brought him ice cream when he was feeling sick and not expected anything in return. But, I do think a "thank you" is warranted.
