William Van Vechten, M.F.A., C.D.P, C.S.P., is a “Jack of All Trades,” and has mastered a few. His diverse interests include computers, electronics, music, theater, concerts, yoga, devotional singing, Sufi dancing, Tantra, and relationships. His earlier professional years included teaching theater classes at the college level, doing concert lighting and sound for many well-known artists, working as Information Services director for several companies, and running his own computer consulting firm. He was the founder of this web site, ConsciousLoving.com.
Today, he is president of Vekline, Inc. and Head Audio Engineer at the California Center for the Arts. William began his spiritual journey in 1997. Reading and studying books on self-help and eastern philosophies led him to lectures, workshops, and gatherings of like-minded people. Opening his mind to new concepts and ideas, he found that there was much more to life than the accepted Southern California lifestyle. After being raised in a family of engineers, he experienced many truths which couldn’t be explained by logic and science. His values and beliefs were transformed, and his sense of himself and the world were dramatically changed.
William spent 22 years married to the mother of his children, Tommy and Amy. In early 1998, they agreed that they had grown apart, admitted they had a loveless marriage, separated and divorced. They remain friendly, cooperative and they consistently work together for the greatest good of their beautiful children.
Later in 1998, William and Kathryn started their conscious relationship. They built their partnership upon openness and honesty, with plenty of generosity, consideration, and cooperation. At fifty years of age, he’d finally found the love of his life, and a life he could love.
